I’ve been drawn to extraordinary homes since I was a kid. Dallas, Dynasty, The Colbys — not the storylines, the houses. The South Fork Ranch. The architecture. The scale. The idea that somewhere on the same planet, people were living in those rooms. I wanted to live in homes like those. That desire has never left.
Interior design, without the training. Fresh paint. Changed pillows. New pictures. And then grander things — the rooms that make you stop.
I got licensed in Florida in 2009, in the long shadow of the crash. Investment property. Buyers who needed honest reads, not dressed-up valuations. The moment I knew the work was mine came on a Saturday morning in Boca. I walked into a waterfront home and felt it clearly: “I love my life and I love what I’m doing. I have this key to something so many people don’t.”
The nudge into the business came from Lisa. She watched me walk through homes the way other people walk through museums — absorbed, asking the questions most people don’t think to ask, noticing the details most people miss. She told me I should get my license. She’s usually right.
Blue Ridge came later, and it came from living there. Lisa and I bought mountain property for ourselves. A friend at Compass saw the place and said plainly, “You’re on to something great here.” I became a Compass Founding Agent in Blue Ridge. The practice grew from there — not as a plan, as a migration. My Georgia clients want water and city access. My Florida clients want elevation and seasons. It’s usually the same conversation, told from two different chairs.
When you work with Thomas, you work with Thomas.
Thomas Echea · E+E Group · Compass“The house doesn’t make its own first impression. I do.”
The framework, regardless of the list price.
I own in both markets. Local expertise is a Saturday morning on my own porch — not a credential on a card.
Every showing, personally. Never a proxy. Never corners cut, regardless of the price point. The standard doesn’t flex.
Check-ins nobody asked for. Voice texts months later. The closing is the beginning — nearly every new client I take on comes from a client I’ve already served.
Six habits you’ll see on every transaction — Blue Ridge or Fort Lauderdale, first purchase or fourth. Not a checklist. Just how I work.
Every showing, in person. Thomas or Laura is at the property when you arrive and stays until you leave. A home of this significance deserves your actual agent.
Every seller hears from me once a week in writing — every Friday, even in quiet weeks. Silence breeds doubt. A written note with market context beats a call you’ll forget by Thursday.
Not on homes $900K+. A home at that level isn’t a code-on-a-box showing. I’m at every one, or it doesn’t happen.
For second-home clients, I check the property every ten days while you’re away. Photos. A short note. Anything unusual, flagged. The house doesn’t go quiet just because you did.
Fire laid. Music low. Candles lit. I prepare every home before buyers arrive — never leaving a property to make its own first impression.
Check-ins nobody asked for. Voice texts months later. Restaurant recommendations in the new neighborhood. The transaction ends at closing. The relationship doesn’t.
Leaving buyers to walk a property without representation is a statement about how much you value the relationship. I’m not making that statement.
Birthday emails from a CRM. Clients can feel the difference between a reminder and a relationship.
Advice that serves my fee over your outcome. If the deal isn’t right for you, I’ll say so — before the contract, not after.
Two names. One team. The same standard at every transaction.
I founded E+E Group. Licensed in Fort Lauderdale since 2009, Compass Founding Agent in Blue Ridge. I lead the practice personally, show up at every transaction, and built the standard the team operates to.
Laura co-anchors E+E Group. She’s present at every South Florida showing, manages every listing detail, and carries the standard Thomas built when he’s in Georgia. She doesn’t manage overflow. She owns her half of the practice.
